Connecting, Collaborating and Sharing with Kingdom Minded Ministries
Before sharing my out of the blue opportunity with you, I want to make it very clear that our SIU partners, the incredible, courageous men and women of Oral Cultures all around their world and their close team of servant hearted leaders, are the HEROES! Not me and not Scriptures In Use. If you ever have the privilege to meet them, you will quickly notice they always point to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!
Recently, Art interviewed me on his radio show where we discussed the ministry of SIU. It is a short episode and I encourage you to take the time to listen to it:
Discipling Oral Learners
CEO & Exec. Director / Scriptures in Use
Oral Scripture Engagement
Handing someone a Bible doesn’t mean much if that person – and that culture – has never learned to read or prefers oral communication forms.
Scriptures in Use equips and trains oral people to make disciples who experience God through His Word in their own heart language and cultural communication forms. Local leaders use these strategies to help their neighbors find hope and salvation.
Jesus told stories and parables. He used practical everyday life and symbols from the local culture to convey spiritual truths: sheep, sowing seed, harvesting, and fishing. The stories Jesus told, and the life and actions of Jesus himself, were told and retold by early believers.
Today, SIU continues that Biblical and traditional teaching approach by reaching the unreached through word-for-word Bible storytelling.
