Reaching and Engaging the Lost

Many of SIU’s indigenous partners live and minister in some of the most unreached places in the world. These proven SIU partners have access to and are within proximity of these unreached and unengaged peoples. Our partners, many facing ongoing persecution, are now sharing Bible stories in Storytelling fellowships frequently engaging in the “Oral Arts” using the mother-tongue, heart language of the hearers in undisclosed hidden locations of unreached people groups.

Here are a few testimonies from some recent Bridges training events:

One pastor said, “I will start using this method in my Church.”

Another pastor said, “I had heard about this method from some friends, but never thought it would be so interesting and useful. We will keep watching the videos and practicing it until we meet again.”

A participant at a follow-up training said he is a government Employee in the Agriculture Department. He shared stories about honesty and good character from the book of Matthew in front of his officers. One of the officers received a Bible from him and has started reading it.

Testimonies and stories like these are reported often by our partners. Bible Storytelling in the heart language of the hearers is producing new storytelling groups which are developing into reproducing church plants resulting in movements where hundreds, and even thousands, are being baptized. God is moving our dedicated, and often persecuted, partners to spread the Good News of the Kingdom of God among unreached and unengaged oral culture communities.

Resources to Reach and Engage the Lost

Will you join us in this “movement”? With approximately 90% of the remaining unreached, unengaged people groups being of oral cultures, SIU and others working in the “Orality Movement” hope to see the task of the Great Commission finished within our lifetime!

Please consider a year-end gift to our ongoing partner Bridges training events where leaders are equipped to reach and engage the lost in these under resourced areas.

Please visit “Give to our ongoing Partner Training” to donate and join us in this effort.
